Why and how to get backlinks from article directories.

Article directories have been a main source of backlinks for affiliates and internet marketers since the big online boom started.

Not only is an article directories good for backlink building, but they can be an amazing source of traffic as well. Not only do articles tend to show up high in search engine results, but they have good value.

There are hundreds of article directories which I will provide a list of in another post. It’s a quite simple but often times time consuming to do.

Basically article directories let people write articles on various subjects and allow a link back to your website. Some may allow multiple links, but most of the quality directories will only allow 1 or 2 in the author bio box at the bottom of your article.

Typically it’s html code that’s used to create these links. Usually you’ll have a simple insert link option so you can just highlight your text and add your link to it.

So you write a keyword targeted article related to your niche and leave a link back within the article. High quality backlinks are built this way.

Some marketers and super affiliates outsource this task by paying someone else to write the content for them, sometimes even submitting it as well.

Another method which I consider a little bit black hat is to spin and rewrite 1 article and submit it to multiple directories.

This is typically done with software but can be done by manually rewriting your articles.

i want my personal website to generate plenty of traffic to it. what is the way to do this? besides reading free pages on google about getting traffic what else is there? is it choosing the correct keywords? i am not planning on competing with anyone to get my site to be #1. but id like to try to get it number 1 anyway.

By posting a highly relevant and helpful answer to Yahoo!Answers one can post a link to the source of the answer.

Yahoo! Answers is community moderated so if those who get answers from you can see that
your site is offering useful information, they will not report you. If you get reported, Yahoo! Answers looks at the credibility of the reporter and the number of people reporting you to
help arbitrate whether you have violated the community guidelines.

Realize that if your primary objective is to drive people to your site and your site has
products for sale, then, explanation or not, you are playing with a violation, much as you
are as motorist when you drive sixty nine through seventy four miles per hour past a
